TeleMedicine Visit
**COVID-19 Protocol**

1. *TELEMEDICINE MAY NOT BE COVERED BY YOUR INSURANCE.
•Although rules concerning telemedicine have improved since 3/2020. Insurance companies have set dates to sunset these provisions.
•It is best to contact your insurance and confirm that your telemedicine appointment will be covered.
2. To be seen using telemedicine, you need the ability to stream audio and video (as is typical of smart phones).
3. A potential risk of telemedicine is that your specific medical condition may necessitate a face-to-face consultation after the telemedicine appointment.
•For example, a biopsy may be required and will result in an additional office visit and applicable charge. However, due to state mandate, only those potentially malignant lesions can be seen in the office at this time.
4. During check-in, we will do our best determination whether the technology will be sufficient for a telemedicine visit, and appreciate your patience as technology can be unpredictable.
5. Don't fear the technology! It is as simple as clicking a link sent via text or email. We are here to help you get set up and answer all of your questions. We sincerely appreciate your patience with any inconveniences as a result of this new protocol.
